Here's a few more photos of the yard and cottage
The cottage is about a 3 minute drive from Dunes beach, and a short walk from two nearby restaurants (about 3 houses away). There is a small farm across the street from us (usually a horse and a cow or two in the fence across the road). The yard itself is about 1 acre in size and backs onto the conservation wetlands of West Lake.

The age of the house itself is uncertain, but appears to be present on a map from the 1800's. We've put quite a bit of work into it over the last year, including a major bathroom rennovation (now has a jet tub), as well as hardwood floors in the living room. Every room in the house has been painted and the three bedrooms each have a double bed in them, plus there's a futon in the downstairs sunroom.

The house itself comes completely furnished with pots/pans/cutlery/dishes, microwave, stainless steel bbq (with extra tank), and all furniture (several antiques). We also purchased a brand new TV and dvd player, sorry no cable/satellite though.

Prices for weekly rentals (saturday through saturday) are $1000/week. Please contact us with any questions or to reserve bookings (for summer 2005) - you can email us at: alan@picton.ca

View of the house in spring
This photo was taken on County Rd 12 from the corner of the property. You can just barely see the green hand-operated well-pump in the center of the grass. It actually still works quite well should you wish to give it a try. But don't worry, the house is all modern plumbing!

Here's the dining area (taken from kitchen)
(Photo on Left) Here's a photo of our dining area (taken from the open-concept kitchen). You can see the futon behind the table, but we've since moved it into the Sunroom at the back of the house.

Pond view
(Photo on the Left) Here's a view of our neighbors pond from our back deck. It's really nice to hear the birds chirping in the background while you're relaxing on the deck.

This year we installed a bird feeder in the yard, and it attracts quite a few little yellow finches. They're pretty busy little birds, and usually manage to clean out the feeder in just over a week!

The willow trees you can see on the left side of the photo are actually quite enormous (in the photo directly below this text you can see that they tower over the house). In this photo from last spring the leaves aren't out yet, but they're quite georgous in the middle of the summer!

Other side of the house
(Photo on RIght) Here's a view of the farmhouse from the other edge of the property (sorry about the sign in the way). This one shows just how tall those willow trees are (close to 100ft I think), they're certainly several times higher than the house is. You can also see the deck at the back of the house, we have a couple of wooden chairs and a patio table there.

The yard on this side of the house is very roomy, lots of open grass with area to play. Plus there's a few nice little nooks into the wildlands at the back of the lot (on the left side of the photo).

Farm across the street
(Photo on Left) Here's a winter view of the farm across the street. Quite often during the summer you can see the neighboring horse and a cow or two inside the fence.
